The week gets off to an intense start with a Full Moon in fiery Aries, the first supermoon of 2025 to boot, emboldening us to embrace the future with new courage.
On Monday, the Moon in mid Aries shines exactly opposite the Sun at the same degree of Libra at 11:47 pm EDT. Also a supermoon (at closest point to Earth), it is a particularly potent one. For one, it brings to a climax the lunar cycle initiated by the September 21 solar eclipse. Which means it has the potential to bring to a head issues stirred during the previous month’s very volatile eclipse season and that of March 2025.
As well, militant Mars, ruler of the Moon’s sign of Aries, is powerfully placed in Scorpio. This brings heightened emotions along with a tendency to react strongly when opposed, then not want to back down. As well, Uranus makes a tense semisquare to Luna, adding restless and impulsive energy, and a strong need to be free of restrictions and routine, or perhaps rebel against authority.
Action is the antidote for the Martian energy. Do make sure to pick your battles, though, and be Scorpio strategic. Embrace a good cause and give it your all. Or do something physical that is out of the ordinary for you; e.g., take a ballet class if you’re a gym rat, or vice versa. Just taking a good long walk to shake off any built-up tensions.
Also on Monday, Mercury enters Scorpio, where it will reside until October 29. While in insightful Scorpio, our perceptions are sharpened, and we are ready to go behind appearances to find truth. Likewise, we’re less attracted by superficialities. It can also give us greater courage of our convictions, and we may find our intuition heightened as well.
We may not feel any of the razor-sharp mental clarity this transit encourages on the first day, though, as Mercury forms a quincunx to Neptune. This can cause confusion in thinking and communications, but quickly passes.
Early Tuesday, the winged planet moves on to form an uncomfortable quincunx to erratic Uranus and restricting Saturn, while at the same time it squares powermonger Pluto. So the first two days of the week will be unsettling, to say the least! It’s best to take it one task at a time, with frequent pauses to breathe and restore equilibrium. Data and discussions will be conflicting, and simple discussions can spin out of control. We may find ourselves having to deal with bullies, and verbal clashes may occur as a result.
On Wednesday, October 8, the Moon moves into tranquil Taurus, helping to calm emotions and bring a desire for peace. This helps counteract the Sun’s anxious sesquiquadrate to Uranus, which could bring unexpected events or changes to the schedule that keep us off-kilter.
Fortunately, love goddess Venus in reserved Virgo forms a sweet, gentle sextile to expansive Jupiter in nurturing Cancer. This aspect urges us to appreciate the many supportive people around us and the beauty of simple pleasures. It is most conducive to harmony, and cooperation is easy to come by, so it’s a good time to solicit support. Or to just enjoy time with family and friends. Romance and creativity also flourish.
Hang onto the positive love-fest vibes, as on Thursday Venus makes a quincunx to Chiron. Old relationship wounds may arise and appear unresolvable. We may have to adjust our expectations. At the same time, Mars is sesquiquadrate Saturn, which tends to throw up sudden, quite unexpected roadblocks, which are best navigated by cultivating patience and taking a long view.
On Friday, the Moon moves into chatty, lighthearted Gemini. It’s time to get the word out—discuss, teach, write or create with wit and grace.
But Venus early the next day moves on to oppose killjoy Saturn, putting a damper on our social and romantic lives for the first half of the weekend. We may find that duty calls when it comes to our loved ones. At the same time, we may be overly critical of ourselves and people around us. Some time spent alone can be very productive and grounding. Consider it a regrouping, a chance to gain greater clarity when it comes to relationships and/or finances and realizing our heart’s desire.
Sunday brings a huge mood shift for the better, as the Moon enters its home sign of Cancer. It’s an excellent day to seek solace in the bosom of the family, or to surround yourself with people who are like. With a holiday the next day, celebrations might start early, as it’s a great time to get together with those who are of like mind. And being a food-oriented sign, let the feasting begin.
