New Moons are about fresh starts, and no sign is better at keeping it fresh than Gemini. A new lunar cycle in that sign began on Sunday, June 14, at 10:54 pm EDT when the Sun and Moon aligned at 24 degrees. Uranus is also in Gemini, ramping up a flair for communication and bringing new, even inspired ideas. A spirit of reinvention and curiosity prevails. We’ll likely want to get out and explore our immediate surroundings more and take steps to connect with others.
Rebrand, relocate—all kinds of fresh starts are favoured. Target June 24, the Full Moon, for bringing them to completion, though some big moves may take until the fall to fully flower.
At the same time, the Moon’s ruler, Mercury, is currently getting cozy in the emotional sign of Cancer where it will hunker down during its retrograde next month. So, while our minds are activated, it’s also important to check in with how we feel. And to not let any Geminian need for novelty lead to change for change’s sake. Or into risky territory, financially or emotionally, because of impulsiveness or FOMO. Intuition can be a sure guide now, though, and we may exhibit great EQ.
Monday dawns with the Moon in Cancer making a square to nebulous Neptune. We may find it hard to shake off the post-weekend brain fog and get down to business. As well, a Venus sextile Uranus aspect puts more positive focus on our relationships, public and private. It’s easier to live and let live when dealing with people who are different, and there’s a spontaneous and playful note to interactions. Creative thinking and projects are nothing short of inspired.
Over the next two days, Venus encounters two other planets. On Tuesday, she trines Neptune, putting romance in the air and casting a rosy glow over how we see the world. The next day, Venus stands opposite Pluto, which may bring power plays and trust issues to the surface. These transits create a strong tension between idealism and intensity in love, creativity, and self-worth. Venus trine Neptune brings romance, compassion, and artistic inspiration, but it can also blur reality and make it easier to ignore warning signs. At the same time, Venus opposite Pluto adds emotional depth, obsession, and power dynamics, pushing us to confront hidden fears, desires, and relationship patterns.
Overall, this is a period of emotional and creative richness that can feel both magical and destabilizing. The trick is to stay grounded yet flexible. If we do, we can enjoy the inspiration while being honest with ourselves about what is real. If handled consciously, relationships can deepen and values become clear and powerful creative or spiritual growth can occur.
On Friday, June 19, Chiron enters Taurus, giving us a three-month preview of a longer stay to come in 2027. Often called the Wounded Healer, in our charts the asteroid indicates where we carry an “ouch” that is hard to assess or address and can feel karmic, but when healed can lead to profound change. Chiron’s move will shift our collective focus and healing towards Taurean issues such as self-worth and stability, which involves finances, and experiencing life through the senses. Sustainability and our relationship to our natural environment also come under Taurus, the Earth Mother.
We’ll get an inkling of the positive side of Chiron’s shift this weekend, as it forms a sextile to the Sun on Saturday. This gentle aspect supports compassion, honesty, and small but meaningful acts of care. It can make it easier to recognize tender spots, insecurities, or old wounds without becoming overwhelmed by them. In turn, we may feel more willing to offer encouragement, reassurance, and understanding to others—and to extend that same kindness to ourselves.
On Sunday at 4:24 am EDT, the Sun enters Cancer, the solstice and seasonal high-energy turning point. In the northern hemisphere, this moment brings the longest stretch of daylight and serves as the astronomical beginning of summer. Each year, there’s a shift away from the frantic, multi-tasking buzz of Gemini season as the Sun’s move into Cancer draws attention inward, encouraging greater sensitivity, emotional awareness, and connection to home, family, and the need for comfort and belonging.
We usually want to retreat for a while. However, this year’s solstice is bookended by powerful transits: Venus’ earlier encounters with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto primed us for sudden awakenings in love, creativity and wealth. Coming soon is Jupiter’s shift into fiery, dynamic Leo bringing an exceptional summer of bold self-expression and expansion. Cancer season, the next four weeks, might best be used to prepare and anchor ourselves with meaningful connections.
