Expect revelations, transformation and perhaps some jubilation under the light of today’s intense Full Flower Moon,
At 12:55 pm EDT on Monday, the Moon at 22 degrees Scorpio directly opposes the Sun at the same degree of Taurus. Which makes a Full Moon, ever a time of illumination and heightened emotions. This time, these propensities are amplified with Luna in dramatic Scorpio and closely opposite expect-the-unexpected Uranus, adding irrational impulses to the insightful mix.
Scorpio is known for being unflinchingly honest and for sweeping things out from under the rug. Long-buried secrets can be revealed. It also is associated with the deep subconscious, so what is brought to light might be uncomfortable or evoke strong emotions. But ultimately, with Uranus present, this aspect can be liberating if shocking at the time.
Helping to mitigate the fallout is sage Saturn in Pisces, which adds spiritual insight and wisdom. Intuition will be finely honed. It makes harmonious aspects to the Sun and Moon, helping us approach any obstacles with maturity and objectivity. But, since those aspects are in the waxing stage, it may take until the weekend or later until we fully realize the benefits.
Meanwhile, mental Mercury in stable Taurus is on the move this week, making tense aspects with many planets along the way. Mind game alert! Monday it squares off with powermonger Pluto. Our thoughts will be especially profound, our interactions even more intense. To be avoided: verging into compulsive or extremist thinking, or looking only on the dark side.
On Tuesday, the Moon exits brooding Scorpio for optimistic, energetic Sagittarius. It forms mostly positive aspects as it progresses. A lighthearted mood helps ease recent tensions. Early morning meditation can bring spiritual insights, while in the evening fortunate aspects with both Venus and Mars make it an optimal date night. The pleasant vibes continue through Wednesday.
On Thursday, May 15, Luna finds fewer helpful allies in the sky. Added to which, Mercury now semisquares Jupiter, an aspect that can lead to out-of-control mental antsy-ness and mental overwhelm. We would be wise to detach from the flood of information and make an effort to be less reactive.
Friday is the best day to get some work done, as the Moon has moved into industrious Capricorn. We can be both highly productive and innovative, thanks to an impending Sun-Uranus conjunction that perfects on Saturday. This aspect gives a strong need to break free and be different, so perhaps working remotely would be the best strategy for success.
Also on Saturday, if events or situations came to light that need shifting, between now and next Tuesday, when the Sun sextiles stabilizing Saturn, is a great time to swiftly institute constructive changes. However, with communicator Mercury squaring feisty Mars, people may express themselves quite forcefully and hold stubbornly to their point of view. Anger can be expressed in a far-from-subtle way. This puts extra pressure on, relationships, especially romantic ones.
Adding to the tension, love goddess Venus makes a tense semisquare aspect to both the Sun and Uranus. Issues of independence versus stability, autonomy versus closeness can arise. But given the current these unsettled and perhaps erratic conditions, are best postponed to early next week.
On Sunday, the Moon shifts into future-minded Aquarius. After some early morning intensity, it can help us to detach from any emotional turmoil and look to the Big Picture. Mercury again plays spoiler as it semisquares pessimistic Saturn. If we can avoid looking on the gloomy side, Jupiter, which now aspects both Chiron and the nodal axis, can help us see the light. It can open a window through which we glimpse a brighter future and fire the ambition to move towards it. For today, though, it’s time for some self-care and self-improvement (Virgo south node) with an eye to recharging. All the while keeping an eye on our highest goals, especially spiritual ones (north node Pisces).
Looking ahead, this week’s Full Moon is the last of a long string of stressful and/or challenging lunations. All to say, expect brighter, calmer days ahead!
