This week holds both anticlimax and respite along with possible disillusionment, and a Mars shift mid-week helps us to be both efficient and productive.
Over the coming days and weeks, we continue to process the effects of the stressful and galvanizing Mars-Uranus square and the longer-term Jupiter-Saturn square, both of which were exact on June 15. The challenging energies linger like a hangover, and we’d be wise to slow the pace and reflect on how current restrictions in our lives have led to a greater sense of purpose and/or need to gain more freedom and meaning in our lives.
Rebellious and impulsive, the Mars-Uranus square holds the potential to liberate us from long-held attitudes and behaviours that are not conducive to growth. At the same time, the Jupiter-Saturn square reminds us there are real-life, practical considerations. And that the way to deal with them requires a vigilant balance between blind impulse (Saturn in Aries) and blind faith (Jupiter in Cancer).
We continue to feel tension early Monday as the Moon in Aquarius triggers the Mars-Uranus sqyare, As well, Mercury semisquares Uranus, adding nervous mental energy to the mix. It may be hard to focus ,and we may find ourselves and other folks being impatient and irritable.
By Tuesday, the Moon drifts into calmer Pisces waters. We’re less riled up, but we definitely have someplace to go! For action-star Mars enters conscientious, perfectionist Virgo and stays there until August 5. During these weeks, we tend to embrace mundane tasks with more gusto, taking great satisfaction when seeing practical results for our efforts. It’s also a good time to learn a new skill or take up a new hobby that involves working with your hands and attention to detail. A strong desire for perfection is best channeled towards self-care and improving our health regimens.
The Moon enters active Aries on Wednesday, June 18. It’s also the day that Jupiter squares off with Neptune, a cosmic alignment that warns t over-idealizing anything or anyone. Jupiter in Cancer brings a quest for safety and comfort, which Neptune now can derail, leading us to place undue trust in groups, individuals or outcomes that ultimately cannot deliver what we hope for. Instead of seeking external validation or refuge, this is a moment to pull into our shells, to reconnect with our inner wisdom and sense of self. By doing so, we may uncover profound spiritual truths ground us in the present and help us deal future uncertainty. It’s time to act with clarity, mindfulness, and a commitment to truth over fantasy.
On Thursday, the usually productive and effective Mars in Virgo forms a quincunx to Saturn, then the same aspect to Neptune the next day. The coming two days can be fraught with frustration that mounts as we experience illogical delays and obstacles that seem to have no clear path around. Goals that once seemed clear now may be less so, and it’s best to hold off until the fog lifts.
Friday marks the summer solstice in the northern hemisphere as the Sun enters Cancer at 10:42 pm EDT. Each year, this ingress brings a desire for more connection and emotional nourishment, and to nurture ourselves and others.
Ruled by the Moon, this water sign emphasizes intuition, emotions, and the comforts of home, making it an ideal time to focus on those who nurture us most. Heightened sensitivity may arise this season. Instead of suppressing emotions, share them with trusted confidants or through creative outlets. This openness fosters balance and emotional clarity It’s also a good time to redesign your spaces, and to welcome relatives or lifelong friends, whatever fosters warmth and joy.
The weekend outlook holds the Moon in pleasure-loving Taurus, a sign that also knows the value of stopping to smell the roses. It’s a good time to indulge in the good things in life, like the arts or fine dining. The outlook is slightly cloudy for relationships, though. On Saturday, love goddess Venus semisquares restrictive Saturn. Too many obligations or financial pressure may have to be dealt with. Often we feel a bit isolated or not supported by emotionally distant loved ones under this aspect.
Obligations of all kinds may mar our day of rest on Sunday. Although they may feel repressive, dealing with them can be easier and more rewarding than we feared. We may have to give up some control, though. Mars also sextiles Jupiter, providing more physical energy and confidence. It’s a good day for extra self-care and just taking it easy, recharging our batteries for the workweek to come.
