First full week of blithe butterfly Gemini season! A waft of lighter, breezily social and communicative energy buoys our spirits. Though the leadup to Sunday’s Blue Moon could bring an underlying sense of dancing on the sword’s edge, we’re able to nimbly learn new choreography and solutions.
The dichotomy is apparent as the week begins. The Moon is in graceful Libra for most of the first three days, harmoniously adding charm and willingness to connect to Gemini’s chatty, “tell me about that” energies. There is a natural, effortless flow between conscious mind (the Sun) and emotional needs (the Moon). The two Air signs colluding creates an intellectually balanced, highly social, and communicative window.
We can process emotions logically, using conversation, art, and wit to make sense of and express our feelings. We’re able to ore easily talk to anyone about anything, helping bridge different social circles. And if we didn’t do so earlier, this would be a good time to set intentions, or at least have a think about priorities, in matters that arose during last week’s Taurus New Moon.
Late in the day on Monday, though, Mars squares off with powermonger Pluto, bringing an undertow of intense, combustible energy. Any latent power struggles, buried anger, and emotional confrontations may surface. Mars in the sign of the Bull can make people more rigid and defensive, Pluto adds the element of “till Hell freezes over.” This force can be channeled positively into being laser focused and choosing responses carefully, reclaiming our strength as we do. If strong feelings surface, it’s best to take it as a sign that something deeper is asking to be acknowledged and transformed. But maybe save any showdowns or pointless battles for another day. We might also weed out needless distractions and focusing on two or three goals that will most benefit us going forward.
On Tuesday, a Sun trine Pluto aspect generates powerful clarity, helping us delve beneath the surface and recognize truths that may have been hidden in plain sight. There is a gentle intensity to this influence, encouraging us to speak with conviction, trust our instincts, and move forward with greater purpose. We may find ourselves wanting to contribute to the greater good of society.
However, with Mercury also sesquiquadrate Pluto on Monday, our perceptions can be especially penetrating, but heightened suspicion may make it difficult to take things at face value. The winged messenger makes a semisquare aspect with warrior Mars on Wednesday, a time when it’s best to be mindful in communications. Shooting from the lip can trigger verbal confrontations.
Beginning on Thursday, the Moon in soulful Scorpio invites us to turn our attention inward. Venus squares Saturn on this day, which brings a sober, reflective tone to matters of love, connection, and personal values. This influence invites a quiet but necessary reality check, asking you to look honestly at what—and who—truly holds meaning in your life. Feelings may seem more fragile now, especially with Venus moving through sensitive Cancer, and even small moments of distance or withdrawal can feel more personal than usual. If emotions are stirred, let this be a chance to deepen your understanding rather than close your heart. What is tested under this aspect has the potential to become stronger, wiser, and more enduring with time.
On Friday, the Sun forms a semisquare aspect to Jupiter. We may feel we are made for bigger, better things, but have no idea how to go about it. We may also over do it, though any overestimation, wastefulness, or exaggeration will not work out. The result can be a vague discontent and irritating restlessness especially as energy is gradually building towards Sunday’s dynamic Full Moon. Instead, we might want to reflect on issues that have come up over the past month. Focus especially on that which no longer fits, clearing the decks for the coming growth-oriented lunation.
On Sunday, May 31, the Full Moon perfects at 4:45 am EDT when the Moon stands just shy of 10 degrees Sagittarius directly opposite the Sun at the same degree of Gemini. This lunation pushes us to broaden our horizons, leave the comfort zone, and abandon limiting beliefs. It illuminates the dynamic between what we believe (Sagittarius) and what we think we know (Gemini). As the second Full Moon of the month, it is a “Blue Moon,” and brings heightened revelations, a desire to break free from limitations, and a need to see the big picture.
This lunation forms a close quincunx to Mars in Taurus, an aspect that requires an adjustment in attitude or approach. This applies if we are stubbornly clinging to beliefs, positions, or certainties that have outlived their purpose. The Moon is also closely sesquiquadrate Jupiter in Cancer, which can amplify emotional defensiveness and make people more reactive or protective of their views. Under these influences, wisdom lies in remaining open enough to recognize when growth asks us to loosen our grip.
More positively, this Full Moon is separating from an opposition to Uranus, indicating we can now put some chaos and confusion behind us. Luna also forms a trine to Saturn and Neptune, providing stable, harmonizing anchor to the Moon's fiery energy. Saturn enables us to take responsibility and build solid, long-lasting foundations, while Neptune lends a layer of creative vision, compassion, and spiritual faith in how the path is unfolding. The Moon also sextiles Pluto in Aquarius, offering the option of empowerment and lasting positive transformation. It provides the psychological insight needed to purge outdated power dynamics and let go of what no longer serves us.
The invitation: We are urged to take an intuitive, calculated leap. The Sagittarius Full Moon energy favors expanding your knowledge, traveling, or dedicating yourself to long-term passions. While the Archer can bring grand, scattered ideas, positive aspects bring an opportunity to move beyond dreams into putting actionable systems and structures in place to achieve those visions.
