Halloween week is not that scary astrologically as we enjoy relative calm during the final few days of October.
On Monday, Saturn squares off with love goddess Venus, putting a damper on relationships. We may see only the negative side or feel held back in some way by a partner. Straight answers are hard to come by. On the positive side, Mars in Cancer makes nice with intuitive Neptune in Pisces. This intimates that intuition is the surest guide in navigating any impasse. It’s also a highly favourable aspect for negotiating a new lease or real estate deal.
By Tuesday, though, Mars moves on to make a frustrating aspect to Saturn. People in control may be making life difficult or taking actions that leave us feeling insecure. But are not forthcoming with reasons or details. At the same time a tense Venus-Pluto semi-square brings out any latent jealousy in a relationship. It’s important to be honest, but not brutally so.
Wednesday, October 30, dawns with the Moon in relationship-minded, artful Libra. But much as we may strive to keep our balance, a destabilizing Mercury-Uranus opposition also is in force. People may speak out spontaneously with an aim to shock. There’s a lot of nervous energy in the air, best grounded through a constructive outlet like a creative project or researching a mind-expanding subject.
On Thursday, Halloween, we may experience an energy lull that occurs before a New Moon. The morning will be tense, however, as the equitable Moon squares off with first combative Mars, then powermonger Pluto. Issues from last month’s eclipse may resurface. By evening, the energy shifts as Luna moves into Scorpio, the sign that revels in ghost, ghouls and goblins. With a compassionate Mercury-Neptune trine in effect, our ideas to celebrate the holiday will be inspired.
Friday, November 1 at 8:47 am EDT marks the New Moon in the moody sign of Scorpio. Expect an emotional reset to “deep” as the two weeks following this lunation are about regeneration and rebirth. This applies to all aspects of your life, and may involve leaving behind that which you have outgrown or impedes your growth. Think phoenix rising from the ashes, spreading its wings for later stratospheric ascent.
Scorpio is also about resources and being resourceful. This New Moon holds potent promise for manifesting your desires, especially when it comes to finances and property, as it makes helpful connections with make-it-real Saturn and determined Pluto.
Messenger Mercury moves into Sagittarius on Saturday and stays there for the rest of 2024. We can both think big and articulate our widescreen visions and will feel more sociable, too. The downside: we’re more inclined to shoot from the lip or be too candid for comfort. When you combine this transit with Jupiter retrograde in Gemini, most of us likely will feel more optimistic and spontaneous. Talk likely will turn to grander holiday celebrations, too.
Sunday starts with Mars throwing down the gauntlet as its last official act in sensitive Cancer is to oppose powerful Pluto in stern Capricorn. Emotional issues can reach a flashpoint then. Folks tend to overreact especially if their security or that of someone close is threatened. Revenge is a common response, too. resist theurge to issue ultimatums, as there may later be no turning back.
A big shift occurs late evening, though. Mars moves on to join the Leo pride. The red planet rules physical energy, so expect a big energetic shift as it blazes through this fiery sign. While in Cancer, it was all about safety and security, and keeping a low profile. Now, it’s all about assertion and if you’ve got it, flaunt it! This is one of the most romantic signs, so cherchez-ing l’amour moves up in importance. So does expressing yourself through a creative project, fashion or décor, whatever thrills you.
