The holiday hurly-burly ramps up; we find it easier to get in the spirit of the season though there may be undercurrents of uncertainty.
On Monday, the Moon enters fiery, demonstrative Leo giving us a boost of confidence and creative energy. However, we might feel like we’re driving with the brakes on, thanks to a square aspect between put-the-hammer-down Mars and make-it-real Saturn. Frustrations felt over the past few days, likely due to obstacles and delays, come to a head. We can be highly productive even if not enjoying the process, as long as we sidestep confrontations with authority figures.
Tuesday’s outlook is more promising, with the Leo Moon finding more allies, at least until late evening when a dust-up with Uranus could bring some sudden emotional upsets. Luna shifts to practical and discerning Virgo the next day, putting more focus on work and productivity. But Mercury opposes Uranus, accelerating the pace of communications to an uncomfortable degree. We’ll have to adjust quickly to unexpected missives and happenings. Nervous energy is heightened.
All week long, we’ll feel the effects of Neptune stationing direct in Pisces, exact on Wednesday, December 10, at 7:21 am. EST. This is big: First, it’s the giant planet’s final retrograde in Pisces in our lifetime. Feeling foggy, confused or lost in an AI alternative reality? This planet is likely to blame. Neptune is all about deep and/or collective consciousness. Also illusions and can act in our lives to help us shed any that are not for our higher good. Since July its retrograde has perhaps worked at such a level as to be indiscernible to our everyday perceptions.
But now the fog begins to lift. And because Neptune is now at the 29th degree of Pisces, it’s the end of a 14-year cycle. The lessons learned: knowing when to let go and let a higher power take the reins. New dreams and visions, and valuing intuition and imagination.
Which means by now we should have experienced a deeper spirituality, compassion, empathy and trust in our intuition. New vistas of creativity or dreams may have opened; on the negative side, or we may have been tempted to slip into worlds of fantasy to avoid harsh reality. We may have realized the importance of boundaries, too.
On Thursday, we get another boost of forward-looking energy as mental Mercury enters Sagittarius, joining the Sun, Venus, and Mars already in this dynamic fire sign. After a long stay in Scorpio (thanks to the retrograde), the excitement is palpable with Mercury’s shift into this optimistic and enthusiastic sign. Especially since it is now in league with four other planets, conspiring to bring positive, forward-moving energy, plenty to shift holiday festivities into high gear. Just don’t fall into the Sag trap of saying yes to everything and then wondering why you feel burnt out by month’s end.
Some of us will use the sign’s penchant for seeking greater meaning and higher truths. We might be drawn into philosophical conversations or debates and may find folks tend to have strong opinions. It’s important to remember the importance of respect and tact, as blunt Sagittarius is prone to “foot in mouth disease.”
On Saturday, Mercury forms a sextile with Pluto, bringing enhanced mental clarity and a strong desire to uncover hidden truths. We may experience greater insightfulness, with an increased capacity for understanding the motives behind certain actions. This aspect is highly supportive of investigations and analytical thinking. As well, a quincunx between Mars and Uranus may lead to erratic or unexpected behaviour around us. We might find ourselves feeling impatient and restless, and more prone to impulsive behaviour; nervous energy is exacerbated.
On Sunday, it might be best to retreat from the holiday hurly-burly and seek a little solitude. Mars squares off with Neptune, making it hard to gain clarity regarding our true desires and motivations. There may be more uncertainty about whether or how to take action, as Mars in Sagittarius wants to charge ahead yet we see no clear path. The resulting confusion may leave us feeling discouraged or disillusioned.
With the Moon in Libra, we may seek solace in our relationships. But since Venus forms a semisquare with Pluto, trust issues may be brought to the fore, leading to feelings of suspicion or jealousy for some. A better use of astrological influence might be a candid examination of the deeper desires that surface, providing an opportunity to address them with honesty and integrity.
Also, the Sun trines Chiron and makes a quincunx to Jupiter, which could trigger feelings of vulnerability. Rather than defaulting to blame or defensiveness, this configuration invites us to approach these emotions as opportunities to go within and nurture Number One. By acknowledging and tending to the parts of ourselves that feel fearful or insecure, we can foster greater personal support and understanding.
