Gemini season gets off to a rousing start brimming with potential innovation and inspiration, where our most random or far-fetched ideas can have legs, if we can manage to cultivate patience and perseverance.
The latter will be easier starting on Monday. Mars moves through Taurus, inviting a steadier, more grounded pace. Until June 28, we may feel calmer, more patient, and less likely to react on impulse. Instead of chasing novelty and rushing to start something brand new as the planets in Aries and Gemini urge us to do, when it comes to acting the focus shifts toward building comfort, security, and lasting stability. The trick is to find the sweet spot between FOMO and inertia. Because the Bull loves what feels familiar, we may be slower to take risks and a little more resistant to change—not always a bad thing.
Also on Monday, Venus enters Cancer, one of the most sentimental and home-loving signs going, bringing a softer, more heartfelt energy to relationships. Until June 13, people may feel especially caring, protective, and attuned with the needs and moods of those they love. This transit can stir up sweet nostalgia too, making family memories or past romances feel extra tender. At the same time, emotions may run a little closer to the surface, so some people could approach love more cautiously or become defensive when they feel vulnerable.
On Tuesday, Mercury makes major alliances. It squares the lunar nodes, which can create some dissonance between what the mind wants to analyze and what the soul is trying to learn. This aspect asks for a better balance between intellect and instinct, so that clear thinking serves a deeper sense of direction rather than distracting from it. Fortunately, Mercury also trines Pluto, bringing depth, focus, and penetrating insight to the mind. This is an aspect of psychological intelligence, to perceive what lies beneath the surface. Thoughts tend to be powerful and concentrated, making it easier to research, uncover hidden motives, or speak with unusual honesty and precision. Conversations can be transformative under this influence, because words carry weight and often reveal truths that were previously unspoken. At its best, this aspect supports profound understanding, strategic thinking, and communication that can heal, clarify, or empower.
And on Wednesday, May 20, Gemini season begins, bringing a palpable shift to the collective atmosphere. This sign is the blithe butterfly of the zodiac, big on communication and connection. Until June 21, it’s a time each year when getting together to shmooze or hang out with friends and like-minded folks feels right. Gemini likes to flit, too, as in staying mobile without straying too far from home base. Road trip on the new REM (Montreal’s rapid transit) line, anyone? Fun of all kinds is favoured, but communication tops the list, conversations spiced with wit and lightning-fast ad libs.
Mercury is also in Gemini as is hot-wired, revolutionary and evolutionary Uranus having its first visit there in over 80 years. which adds extra brilliance. Known as the Great Awakener, Uranus often brings life-changing events that propel us towards greater awareness and inspiration. Gemini’s great superpower is curiosity, that which takes us away from the stagnant and repetitive and into “what if?” Our desire to learn and expand our inner database can lead us into new and exciting territory, even revolutionize the way our minds are wired. This is a wonderful time to take a class, subscribe to a new podcast, learn a new skill—whatever intrigues and delights the mind. Do jot down the random thoughts that arise; you never know when these inspirations will prove useful.
The downside: since Gemini rules the nervous system, we may find it all mentally exhilarating and exhausting at the same time. Many clients are reporting anxiety or burnout issues. In any event, we will benefit from scheduling more downtime unplugged from devices and other distractions perhaps to meditate, journal or take long walks in nature.
On Thursday, Venus squares Neptune, which can make the day feel a little dreamy, especially when it comes to relationships, money, and the way we see other people. Under this influence, it is easy to fill in the blanks with hope, romance, or wishful thinking instead of seeing things exactly as they are. Emotions may feel softer and imagination stronger, but clarity can be harder to hold onto. This is a gentle reminder to slow down, stay grounded, and give yourself a little extra time before making emotional or financial decisions.
On Friday the Sun conjuncts Uranus, ramping up the energy (see Wednesday above). The day may see surprising revelations or sudden shifts that challenge us to see things from a fresh perspective. Unexpected developments might open a new door door to meaningful long-term change. As well, a Mercury sextile Saturn aspect encourages thoughtful, grounded communication today, though people may still feel irritable or confrontational if they do not feel heard. The best way through this energy is to speak with care and make sure your words reflect your highest integrity. Adding to the day’s energy, Venus trine the North Node supports harmony, cooperation, and a willingness to see the best in others, making it easier to work together with grace and understanding.
The love boat hits a snag on Saturday when Venus makes a quincunx to Pluto. We may find ourselves quietly re-evaluating a relationship, especially if something feels unclear or left unsaid. Under this influence, emotions can run deeper than expected, and feelings of suspicion or jealousy, may surface more easily than usual. With everyone, a Mercury semisquare Chiron aspect can make conversations a trifle touch today, as old wounds, unresolved tensions, or hurt feelings are more easily stirred. It’s especially important to speak gently and listen with care.
Sunday we might want to invoke tradition and make it a day of rest and reflection. The Sun forms a sextile to nebulous Neptune, which makes it easier to access intuition. With it guiding our thoughts and interactions, we may glide through the day with sensitivity and imagination, perfect for lounging or creative pursuits of all kinds. And since Mars trines the north node, we may more easily act in alignment with deeper purpose and spiritual direction. Compassion can be a strong motivator now, inspiring us to help others in practical, meaningful ways while staying true to what matters most.
