Weekly Horoscope: July 15-21, 2024

Writer's picture: Susan KellySusan Kelly

Mars drives the agenda this week, bringing a whirlwind of surprises along with intensity and a deep desire for greater freedom and fulfilment.

On Monday, the red planet collides with Uranus, planet of disruption. Expect the unexpected when it comes to the daily routine. And people around you may be intent on throwing curveballs your way. There may be no avoiding stubborn self-righteousness folks, and confrontations can escalate so are bet sidestepped in the first place. This combo can also bring inspired action, though. Uranus is about genius and the creative solution; Mars in Taurus is all about putting the hammer down. And this earth sign favours efforts at improving sustainability and the bottom line. Just make sure to not be like the Bull in the China shop!

We should be out of the woods on Tuesday as the aspect passes. But the Moon in Scorpio will bring the subject up again as it opposes the two planets mid-afternoon. By evening, Luna makes an insightful trine to Neptune, helping us to see the bigger picture and higher purpose of any situation. If not, expect a resolution on Saturday, as Mars meets up with the giant ethereal planet.

On Wednesday, July 17, the Moon gallops into lively Sagittarius. She allies with sociable Venus in the morning, creating a sunny and cheerful atmosphere. An encounter with jovial Jupiter in the afternoon further lightens things up, but may make it hard to focus or attend to difficult tasks or people. The trend continues into Thursday, though a Sun-Uranus sextile makes us perhaps a little to eager to set our own agenda for some people’s comfort.

The Moon enters a more serious phase with its ingress into responsible Capricorn on Friday morning. We can close out the workweek with a productive spurt, though we may not whistle as we work.

On Saturday, Mars sextiles Neptune, firing the pursuit of our desires, dreams and goals while helping us to intuit the best action to take. It’s also an optimal time for creative endeavours and romantic pursuits. By late afternoon, the red planet shifts into the sign of Gemini, where it will stay until September 4. It’s now in the sign of communication and quick thinking, so we can look forward to some straightforward discussions and agreements being formed. We’ll want to be more spontaneous in all areas of life, too, and be more mobile without venturing too far afield.

On Sunday, our nerves might be on edge after an early morning Full Moon, at 6:17 am EDT, the second this year falling in the sign of Capricorn. It opposes the Sun in Cancer, all about emotional realities and private life. So this one might bring an important breakthrough or realization about work-life balance. This is a good time to look back on the previous Full Moon on June 21. Things that were seeded then could flower now. And being in an ambitious sign, it could be about your Big Picture goals and plans.

As the Full Moon sheds light on our internal conflicts, too, we might find emotions swimming to the surface. Luna conjoins Pluto, perhaps freeze-framing them so we have more objectivity while bringing a sense of urgency to take decisive actions and make powerful realizations. It is supported by harmonious connections with Neptune, Mars and Uranus, alignments that positively support ambitions and dreams. A strong Venus aspect also reminds us to keep our true heart’s desires in mind if we want to achieve long-lasting success.
