Weekly Horoscope: February 3-9, 2025

Writer's picture: Susan KellySusan Kelly

Optimism and growth begin a welcome--if chaotic--re-entry of the atmosphere this week as jovial Jupiter resumes forward motion.

On Monday, metal Mercury trines expansive Jupiter, generating a whirlwind of discussions, opinions and ideas. The winged messenger is now in the inventive, socially conscious sign of Aquarius, while Jupiter is in the very chatty information overload sign of Gemini. It’s a good day to get any writing or posting out of the way, as brain synapses fire on all cylinders.

For the past couple of weeks, giant Jupiter has been lumbering backwards very slowly through Gemini. On Tuesday, it grinds to a halt as it shifts gears into forward motion, moving a scant one degree by the end of the month. This stall heightens the planet’s influence on our lives, in this case the planet's enthusiasm and forward-looking which now operates with the mental activity of Gemini.

Brain strain, information overload and being forced to make quick decisions may further tax our nervous systems, creating unease, even anxiety. The planet is in a very social sign, too. Many of us have chosen to turn within, spending more time alone over the past four months or so. As Jupiter picks up speed in the coming weeks, we will come out of our shells, and begin reconnecting and generating new social connections.

Underlying it all is a beneficial contact between Neptune and what is known as the Moon's north node, which has a lot to do with destiny and evolution, personal and collective. This could open new insights and understanding, leading to greater faith in the future. Extra time spent in mindful practices this week further the process and help us deal with Jupiter-generated chaos.

Also on Tuesday, love goddess Venus enters fiery Aries for a longer than usual stay, thanks to its retrograde next month. Now, proactive is the watchword in things Venusian, like matters of the heart, finances or creativity. Things happen quickly and impulsively under the sign of the Ram, too. Think exciting and short-term when it comes to romance or artistic projects. For the latter, also try something at which you are the first. But if you’re prone to impulse spending, best stay out of shopping malls or sites under this influence.

Wednesday, February 5, marks the quarter Moon in the grounded and sensible sign of Taurus.  Throughout the day, it makes helpful aspects with four other planetary players. This will help us take a positive reality check, perhaps finding ways to implement some of the brilliant and innovative ideas emerging under the Jupiter station.

On Thursday, the Moon enters gregarious Gemini for a two-day stay. This is a good day for tete-a-tetes, both business and social. Cooperation and and meetings of the mind are easier to find. That shifts on Friday, though, as both the Sun and Mars make irksome aspects to belligerent Mars. With the latter sill in Cancer, people may take offhand remarks very personally. Exercise EQ rather than IQ.

Home is where the heart is this weekend as Luna enters domesticated Cancer. On Saturday, though, a series of uncomfortable aspects indicates that more feathers could be ruffled. But a Mercury-Chiron sextile will help us find the right words to heal and show acceptance.

Sunday is a banner day for getting things done around the house. A Mars-Saturn trine helps us to put the hammer down, all the while respecting feelings and boundaries. There’s also a hygge vibe throughout, perfect to hunker in the bunker wrapped in emotional warmth. The afternoon and evening hours are especially fruitful for starting new home improvement projects. And with the Sun also conjunct Mercury, there will be no shortage of brilliant ideas on all fronts.
