We surf some cosmic turbulence this week but are better able to ride the waves in the leadup to Saturday’s enlightening Full Moon.

Since the new year began, the planets have danced a two-step: one forward and then two back in retrograde motion (or so it seems). This week marks the end of the backpedalling series, as Mercury and Venus turn direct on Monday and Saturday, respectively.

Planning note: Mercury moves slowly in the nebulous sign of Pisces until the 15th. Until then, it’s easier to make decisions or take on projects that require intuitive thinking. We can also gain clarity about insights gained during the past three weeks’ review process. Once the winged messenger enters Aries on the 16th, dynamic logic returns. And when action-star Mars enters fiery Leo on the 17th, it will be all systems go!

On Monday, the Moon is in demonstrative Leo just as Venus conjuncts make-it-real Saturn and sextiles Uranus. This is a fortunate day for lovers, who can make long-term commitments and still remain open to exciting future possibilities. In finances as well, we’re open to making innovative changes with far-reaching consequences.

Luna shifts to practical Virgo on Tuesday. This is a good time to tend to chores and detail-oriented tasks. A period of confusion may make things difficult until lunchtime, but swiftly passes. Watch for road rage during the rush hour commute, as folks are very touchy then.

The trend continues on Wednesday, April 9, and continues through Thursday. We may find ourselves with an overpowering Virgo urge to spring clean and reorganize. This could mean a physical detox, or personal space or digital declutter, even a spiritual cleansing. Purging now will create space for future plans to unfold.

The Moon shifts into harmony seeking and relationship focused Libra on Friday. With that sign’s ruling planet, Venus, at a standstill things may not go as swiftly or as planned in matters of the heart, finances or beautification.

The culmination occurs on Saturday at 8:22 pm EDT with the Full Pink Moon in Libra, potentially one of the most lovely and harmonious lunations of the year. It has extra significance now, as it brings cosmic closure to eclipse season, the effects of which have been felt since early March. We can begin to reclaim our strength in the face of current world turbulence.

Finding peace begins within our own hearts. How far are we willing to compromise achieve it may be an important question now. Assisting us is realizing this is Venus, now beginning to move forward in the skies. During the retrograde phase of Venus, we encounter blocks in relationships, finance and creativity. We need to and weigh our options, to redress and reassess our relationships. Now in Pisces, we may seek a soul mate. Or find we have discovered new needs priorities and are willing to set firmer boundaries going forward.

The Moon shines directly opposite the Sun, now conjunct planetoid Chiron. This can bring up old wounds, especially about maintaining our individuality in relationships. And asserting our will responsibly. Both the Sun and Moon form a tense square aspect to Mars in Cancer. This brings to culmination a time of confrontation and warlike activity in the world sphere. Which puts all of us on edge in an atmosphere that is highly reactive and excitable. Those who give into the prevailing energies will react with impatience, “me-first,” headstrong and aggressive way.

The key to handling this configuration: Know thyself. By distancing ourselves, we can find a new perspective. With the Moon in fair-minded Libra, we can find a middle ground. We can turn the need to control to our own selves, and exercise patience and compassion. Physical activity is a good outlet for inner tensions, too.

The Moon also forms what is known as a yod, a configuration that often indicates an important choice or turning point. Luna  is in quincunx aspect to three planets in Pisces (Venus/Saturn/Mercury) and to Uranus in Taurus. This offers a chance to become more aware of old kneejerk emotional responses that no longer serve us or may be unhealthy. We may gain clarity about our true needs and what adjustments must be made to fulfill them.

The Moon does a deep dive into Scorpio waters on Sunday. We may be feeling a little overwhelmed by recent events. A little harmless escapism—binge-watching a miniseries, boardgame marathon, art gallery crawl, for instance—might be just the refresher our mind and spirit needs.
